Not every business needs a full-time technical writer. But almost every business eventually has something that needs to be written, rewritten, organized, standardized, updated, formatted, or simply finished.

Hi, I’m Lara.
For more than 25 years, I’ve helped major corporations, professional service firms, and community organizations turn complex information into clear, useful documents. During the past decade alone, I’ve edited more than 500 technical papers with engineers and subject matter specialists.
I like messy documents, stubborn Word files, and projects that have sat on someone’s desk for months. An outdated manual or a rough draft with no clear structure is the kind of challenge I enjoy.
My experience includes reports, manuals, procedures, proposals, presentations, website content, and legal transcripts. My work has earned two Distinguished Awards from the Society for Technical Communication.
Through independent assignments and roles with documentation service firms, I’ve supported projects for Halliburton, Chevron, Humble ISD, Bosch, ConocoPhillips, BP, ExxonMobil, Phillips 66, and Stewart Title.
